Although its origin is in China about 3,000 years ago, the emergence of Kamados in the Western world is much more recent. In fact, it goes back less than a century ago. Specifically to the years immediately after the end of World War II, when the Allied troops of the Pacific, upon discovering their virtues, take with them a significant number of these unique ceramic kilns.
From this moment on, the proliferation of the use of kamado will be an unstoppable process. First with ovens that will be imported directly from the countries of the Far East, in a second moment, considering its success among the public, with the appearance of different brands of Western kamados that will design, develop and manufacture their own ovens.
In this section we try to explain the history and the particularities of some of the main brands dedicated to the manufacture of kamados. In this way, all those interested in deepening their knowledge about grilled cuisine and, especially, about the kamado universe, will be able to expand their knowledge on the subject or, even, have a more solid base when buying a kamado.
